Standing Tall

Nothing is more nostalgic for me than a senior session, especially with someone from my alma mater.

This young man is finishing his high school days and will be doing many things for the last time.

I hope these photos always make him “Remember when . . .” and make him smile.

As he closes this chapter in his life and goes on to discover many new firsts, I wish him success and happiness in all that he does.

The Birthday Girl

I always dreamed of having children.  But, I must admit, as I got older the whole idea of it overwhelmed me.

Hundreds of worries would run through my head, and still do, as my hopes became my reality and I became “Mom.”

Of course as soon as I had one child everyone would ask, “So, when are you going to have another one?”

I truly had no idea.  I had no set plans.  I always just said, “I think I will just try one at a time and see what happens.”

One . . . two . . . and then three sweet babies joined our family.

I realized quickly how wise the old woman was that stopped me in the middle of a full blown temper tantrum with one of my children.

Although I admit it was somewhat aggravating at the time, she smiled and calmly said,

“Enjoy this time. The days are long and hard, but the years will flash by in a blink of an eye.”

Oh how right she was!

For awhile we thought our family was complete, but deep down I wasn’t convinced.

Gratefully we were blessed with just one more . . . our Katelyn Ruth.

We all anticipated her arrival and it was bittersweet, for we knew she would be our last.

But the sweet outweighed the bitter for sure.

That sunny day, now 5 years ago, our lives became even brighter.

She has brought so much joy, laughter and love to our family.

She has us all wrapped around her little finger, as the baby of the family usually does.

It is safe to say we are all quite smitten.

So, to our girl who has turned 5 in a “blink of an eye” . . . Happy Birthday!!

I hope you continue to dance, sing, laugh and smile your way through life, just as you do now.

Love you forever,

Your Mom

We are family . . . .

These photos are without a doubt getting me excited for fall sessions.

This sweet family – which just happens to be part of mine – braved the summer heat for these images.

I am thinking it was worth it.

I love them all and hope these photos will hope freeze time a bit for them

and be a part of the many memories they are creating together as a family.

Just The Girls

I don’t know what it is about mother/daughter sessions, but they simply melt my heart.

I remember when I had my first child someone told me “The days are long, but the years fly by way too fast.”

As I wrestled my toddler, I nodded and smiled thinking to myself, “They have no idea what they are talking about!”

Sure enough, I feel as if I have blinked and my son is taller than me, my daughter is wearing my shoes and my baby is 4 going on 14.

This sweet session at the farm captured a moment in time for this beautiful mother that she will be able to look back on forever.

There are few things as pure and angelic as a mother’s love.

I hope that she will always treasure these photos and remember how much she is loved back.
